Left sided?Right sided? Guitar and Flute

Sometime during med school I started taking flute classes..picked it
up quite quick too....but as years went by I realized that my deviated
nasal septum kinda made one side of of my nasal vestibule go dry after
a longer flute blowing session.
Also,as years went by I realized that the FLUTE is not really a good
ACCOMPANIMENT INSTRUMENT especially if one would want to both sing and
play an instrument at the same time during a performance.That is when
I decided to start learning the guitar.
Actually, the intense inspiration to start learning guitar came from
me wanting to make a "response YOUTUBE video" to one of my favorite
songs by an artist called Goh Nakamura...I realized that the video
would be better if I had some kind of music playing in the
background.what better than a simple strum of an acoustic guitar.
Given the procrastinator that I am, I DIDN'T END UP making that
response video yet...BUT , i did end up buying a guitar and then also
self learn it to some extent..
Anyways coming back to the TOPIC on the header of this blog...as I
watched Justin beiber's "NEVER SAY NEVER" movie which I got to see
recently( I know,,it takes me that long to get around to watching
stuff)..i realized that justin is left handed and hence his guitar is
a left handed guitar.This got me thinking."mmmmm.given the way the
strings are arranged in a guitar..yes we do need to change the
arrangement if the person were left handed...but then given the way
the flute is...there is no need for a special LEFT HANDED FLUTE , Is
there?"
WAIT A MIN...Prolly there..let me go dig out both my guitar and flute
or RATHER try to mentally image me playing them if I were left
handed....hmmmmm
gotta come back and blog about this again at a later time.
TEN MINUTES LATER..
yeah..given the guitar's construction,,it does need modifications if
the person were left handed...and possibly a right handed flute can
just be played in a different way and still work for a left handed
person.
